Miriam Bernard

Miriam Bernard has been appointed to Project 4, based at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique in Roscoff. Her research is supervised by Dr Catherine Leblanc. Miriam miriam-bernard-esr-project-4completed her MSc degree in Plant Sciences in March 2015 at the University of Bonn. Her thesis, which she undertook at the Alfred-Wegener-Institute, Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research, investigated the impact of global warming on S. latissima, A. esculenta and L. digitata in a polar ecosystem in Ny-Alesund, Svalbard, where she was able to observe the growth and development of spores on these algae under a range of conditions. A number of internships undertaken before and during her post-graduate studies allowed Miriam to acquire experience of a range of technical methods such as PAM measurements, PCR and MS.
