ALFF is a Consortium of ten institutions – universities, research institutes and companies – from across the European Union that are working together to train 15 doctoral students in the fields of algal biotechnology and aquaculture. The lead scientist for the ALFF project is Dr Claire Gachon who is based at SAMS (The Scottish Association for Marine Science). SAMS is a partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands.
We also work very closely with the private sector – business and industry – to ensure students have the opportunity to gain valuable working and research experience in multiple and diverse environments of the algal biotechnology and aquaculture sectors. to learn more about our partners, please refer to the tabs below.
